EVENING CASUAL NETWORKING
We offer a broad range of evening activities for casual networking while exploring Davos and its surroundings, including visits to renowned research institutions.
The events are open to congress participants and accompanying persons.
There are many free events. For events with a fee, by booking you agree to pay the fee at the registration desk by credit card.

Monday evening activities
N1) Easy mountain bike Tour

Davos is mountain biking heaven. Are you curious to get to know it? This tour is also suitable for single trail beginners with little biking experience, as long as you can ride a bike. Included: Bike and helmet rental, experienced local guide, insurance in case of damage to the bike. When registering, please note your body height so the right size bike can be prepared for you.
N2) Advanced mountain bike Tour

Level: general fitness, alpine mountain biking experience

Davos is mountain biking heaven. This tour is suitable for advanced mountain bikers. We mainly ride on single trails. Small steps and roots are part of your biking routine. You move your bike safely through high alpine terrain for the most part and have adequate stamina. Included: Bike and helmet rental, experienced local guide, insurance in case of damage to the bike. When registering, please note your body height so the right size bike can be prepared for you.
N9) Social Run along Landwasser River and on Forest Trails
Time: Monday at 6:30pm
Meeting Point: Congress Center outside main entrance
Level: adequate fitness, running shoes and weather appropriate clothing
Duration: 1-1.5h
Price: free
This run along the river Landwasser and on forest trails will offer you nice views of the valley and town of Davos. Simultaneously you’ll be able to connect with fellow hydrogeology experts. 10 km, 200 m of elevation (up and down).
N10) Hike to Schatzalp and Alpinium

Price: Free (possibility to return by funicular, ticket not included)
Right from the doorstep of the Congress Center we hike up to Schatzalp. The trail and destination offer rewarding views of the valley and surrounding mountains. A free visit to the Alpine Botanical Garden located at Schatzalp is optional. We recommend combining this activity with dinner at Strela Alp (book separately). Return to the valley on foot or by funicular (CHF 10 to be paid on site).
N12) Alpine Botanical Garden, Guided Tour

At the Schatzalp botanical garden, marvel at what nature is able to do at about 1800 m above sea level. In a guided tour, we will take a deep insight into the impressive collection of alpine species of the garden and learn about their philosophy and working methods. We recommend to combine this activity with dinner at Strela Alp (book separately). Return to the valley on foot or by funicular (CHF 10 to be paid on site).
N14) Dinner at Strela Alp

Enjoy a BBQ at 1900 m above sea level! Join this after the guided tour of the alpine botanical gardens or the hike up to Schatzalp and Alpinum (book separately). It’s also an option to arrive on your own using the funicular (CHF 10 to be paid on site, descent included with dinner, +15 min walk). If you have any dietary restrictions, please mention with your booking. Beverages are not included in the price.
N19) GWunderwald – Nature Walk River and Forest

Following first the Landwasser river and then alternating between forest and meadows we enjoy the valley’s nature on a walk while networking.
4.5 km, 110 m elevation gain, 160 m elevation loss.
Meeting at 6:00 PM on time, the public bus departs at 6:05 PM. Start of the walk at Davos Frauenkirch, Gadenstatt. End at Davos Glaris, station, return by train or public bus. (Public transport is included with your Guest Card if you’re staying at a hotel. Otherwise, please buy your own ticket.)
N20) Walk Around Lake Davos

A walk around beautiful lake Davosersee is an excellent opportunity for chatting with colleagues about topics coming up during conference while experiencing some of the beauty of the area. 5 km, mostly flat.
N25) Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF, Guided Visit

The Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research (SLF) is a world-renowned research institute in its field. It conducts solution-oriented research on natural hazards, mountain ecosystems, and snow and ice in a changing world and offers various services, for example the avalanche bulletin. In a guided tour of SLF, the various fields of research und activities of the institute will be presented and you will be given an immediate insight into everyday work of the researchers.
N35) Physikalisch-Meteorologisches Observatorium Davos (PMOD) and World Radiation Center (WRC), Guided Visit

Visit the unique observatory and research facility in Davos. The Physical Meteorological Observatory and World Radiation Center (PMOD/WRC) has been researching the influence of solar radiation on the Earth’s climate since 1907. For this purpose, it develops instruments for use in space and on the ground.In 1971, the World Meteorological Organization added the mission as World Radiation Center (WRC). The WRC has the task of operating reference measuring instruments on which all meteorological radiation measurements worldwide are based. Radiation measurements of the sun in all wavelength ranges (UV to IR) are among the main activities of the institute.
N36) Brewery Tour and Tasting of Davos Craft Beer with Dinner

The young micro brewery Davoser Craft Beer opens its doors for those curious about the making-process. Of course an elaborate tasting of the different beers is part of the experience. You’re welcome to arrive hungry – white sausage and pretzels will be served.
N38) Brewery Tour and Tasting of local beer at Monsteiner Bier with Dinner

On a guided tour of the local brewery Monsteiner Bier you’ll learn about the making-process of beer, taste the ingredients and obviously the products – a wide range of beers. To round things off, feast on the nourishing brewer’s platter (meats and cheeses).
N47) Klosters Village Walk and Dinner

As a group, we will travel to Klosters village by public bus and train (30 min), have a relaxed stroll though the village (45 min) and enjoy a fabulous dinner at the restaurant Miraina. If you have any dietary restrictions, please mention with your booking. Beverages are not included in the price.
The dining location, placed inside a former stable, has an interesting history: During the “Prättigau War” in the 17th century, almost all of Klosters was destroyed by the Austrian invasion. The church of St. Jakob also burned down. During its reconstruction, the sermon was held in this stable. It thus received its historic and unique name “Tempelgadä” (temple stable).

N51) Golf Intro Course

A golf professional will give you an introduction to the fascination of golf. You will practice your first tee shots on the driving range and hole out on the putting green. N5) Disc Golf

As a recreational sport, disc golf combines a stay in nature with physical and mental activity – just the right thing for socializing with fellow conference participants! The stunning scenery of Flüela Pass adds its part to the experience. Transportation there and back is arranged.
N8) Casual Run around Davosersee

On a casual run around lake Davosersee you can network with like-minded colleagues while getting your blood flowing after an information-filled conference day. 5 km, mostly flat.

On a walk in nature we relax, enjoy the area and network all at once. Valley views between the meadows of Wildboden and forest magic while following Sertigbach upstream.
3.5 km, 120 m elevation gain.

N28) Kirchner Museum, Guided Tour

Kirchner Museum in Davos houses the world’s largest collection of works by artist Ernst Ludwig Kirchner. His extensive oeuvre is considered groundbreaking for German Expressionism.
